Migrating a website can be stressful, but it doesn't have to be. If you have an existing website with another hosting provider, our team can migrate it to your new SiteHosts account free of charge.
We handle the files, databases, and emails to ensure a smooth transition. Most importantly, we perform this migration without taking your website offline. Your old site remains live until the new one is ready to go.
Step 1: Prepare Your Details
To perform the migration, our team needs temporary access to your old hosting account. Please have the following ready:

Control Panel URL: The link you use to log in to your old host (e.g., their cPanel link, Plesk, or dashboard URL).

Username: Your login username for the old host.

Password: Your login password for the old host.
Note: We recommend changing your password at your old host after the migration is complete for security.
Step 2: Open a Migration Ticket
We handle all migrations via our secure support ticket system to protect your login credentials. Do not email passwords directly.

Log in to your SiteHosts Client Area.

Click on Open Ticket (or go to "Support" > "Open New Ticket").

Select the Support or Technical Support department.

Subject: Enter "Migration Request - [Your Domain Name]".
Step 3: Provide the Required Information
In the message body, please copy and paste the form below and fill in your details. Be as specific as possible.

Old Host Login URL: [e.g., oldhost.com/cpanel]
Old Host Username: [username]
Old Host Password: [password]
Any Special Instructions: [e.g., "Please migrate my emails too" or "Only migrate the WordPress database"]
Click Submit to send the request securely to our migration team.
What Happens Next?

Review & Access: Our team will review your request and test the login details (usually within a few hours).

The Transfer: We will log in, package your entire account (website files, databases, and email accounts), and transfer it to our secure servers.

If your old host uses cPanel: We can often transfer your entire account structure, including email passwords.

If your old host uses a different system: We will manually migrate the site content.

Completion & Preview: We will reply to your ticket confirming the transfer is complete. We will provide you with a Temporary URL or instructions on how to preview your site on our servers before it goes live to the public.

Go Live: Once you have confirmed the site looks correct, you can update your nameservers to point to SiteHosts, completing the switch.
